Avtex W103D - Size certainly does matter...
The Avtex W103D 10.1" TV/DVD combination crams an astonishing amount of features into a small, lightweight, elegant package. The least consumptive caravan TV on the market?
Power is always a consideration when caravanning. With the W103D, you get the best of both worlds. When you have mains hook up, or youre in the house, use the mains power pack. When running directly from your leisure battery, use the DC lead. The W103D draws under 1 amp on 12V DC - we have yet to come across a caravan TV this size that draws less than this.
And the W103D records as well?
The W103D is equipped with a USB socket. Simply attach a USB memory stick or external hard drive, and then use then on-screen programme guide to navigate the next seven days TV. When you see something you want to record, just press the Record button on the remote. For guidance, a 1GB memory stick will record approximately 1 hour of TV. The bigger the memory, the more you can record!
Is it difficult to tune in?
The W103D is fitted with Avtex Quick Tune (AQT) - a unique feature that completely automates the tuning process on either digital Freeview or analogue. With one press of the AQT button on the remote, the unit will tune, order, name and store each available channel, all on the correct channel position!
Whats the build quality like?
Like all Avtex televisions, the W103D has been designed specifically for use in caravans. As such, it is built to withstand the added rigours that a caravan TV undergoes, due to constant movement and vibration. How clear is the picture?
The W103D features an LED panel, which provides a crisp, clear image with a complete vertical/horizontal viewing angle. Compare it with other sets in its class - then realise that there is no comparison.
And what about safety?
The W103D is designed to work on a leisure battery. Unlike others, it has its own integrated DC circuit board rather than a potentially dangerous external 12V regulator, and will work on any voltage between 8 - 30V, eliminating the risk of high current, or damage to your leisure battery or set.
